Job Description Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) to provide diabetes education, consultation, and evaluation of patient and program outcomes in a leading healthcare facility. The educator will play an essential role in delivering and implementing effective teaching interventions for patients and their families, with a focus on structured and tailored educational materials.
Responsibilities - Develop and deliver educational materials for new pediatric inpatients and outpatients in group and individual sessions.
- Utilize knowledge of growth and development to provide appropriate educational content based on identified needs.
- Maintain diabetes supplies and assist with their management.
- Provide backup support to other staff as necessary.
- Contribute to orientation and training of personnel and students.
- Attend meetings and participate in required ongoing professional development.
- Prepare periodic reports as requested.
Schedule This position follows a schedule of 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - Associate's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Dietetics.
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- Registered Dietitian Certification or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Michigan.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
